This is an important update for Dreamweaver 8, but before I give you the download URL, let me give you the good, the bad, and the ugly:
The Good :
This update improves code generated by Dreamweaver for server behaviors and for active content such as Flash. It incorporates an EOLAS fix for IE/Win, but it still uses the embed tag so the code doesn’t validate.
You have to disable all your extensions before installing the update and then enable them again after the installation. Kind of a pain if you have a lot of extensions.
Server-side extensions from a few companies have been known to overwrite critical DW system files. If you are using such an extension, when you reinstall your extensions after the 8.02 update, the “rogue” extension could remove or rewrite files that the updater just updated. If that happens, you will need to completely uninstall Dreamweaver and thoroughly clean out all folders in Program Files – then reinstall Dreamweaver. Before installing any server-side third-party extensions, get a confirmation from the author that they are not touching any DW files.
