Some Useful CSS Techniques
Smashing Magazine has published “53 CSS-Techniques You Couldn’t Live Without“. Some are useful.
Acid2 Browser Test Page
Acid2 is a test page for web browsers published by The Web Standards Project (WaSP). It has been written to help browser vendors make sure their products correctly support features that web designers would like to use. According to the folks at the Microsoft Developer’s Network, IE 8 passed the Acid2 test with flying colors.
Now Customers Can Safely Edit Their Sites.
There are times when customers would like to be able to make minor changes to their own Web pages, but developers are often reluctant to allow such a practice because of the damage that can be done to a site. A content editing tool called SnippetMaster provides a solution that should please both customers and developers. With SnippetMaster, developers can designate editable areas of a page (called “Snippets”), and customers can edit those pre-defined editable areas, using almost any browser, without the risk of damaging the rest of the web page.
There are two versions of SnippetMaster: Lite and Pro. The Pro version provides additional features such as the ability to preview changes while editing and the ability for users to upload files to the server.
SnippetMaster Lite is free, and single domain licenses for SnippetMaster Pro are $24.95 US for a regular license and $74.95 US for a rebrandable license.
WebAssist’s 50% Off Sale.
WebAssist is offering 50% off all their products during December. If you’re a Dreamweaver User (Version 8 or CS3), don’t miss Eric Meyer’s CSS SCULPTORâ„¢. It’s a “must have” extension for Dreamweaver users.
Service Pack 3 For Windows XP.
I am still using Windows XP and want to wait a while longer before moving to Vista. If you, too, are stilling using WinXP, you should be aware that SP3 for WinXP is slated to be released in the coming months.  I have seen reports that the service pack will add some Vista features to XP.  I wonder what SP3 will break?
